Plastic bottles are used in many areas of our daily lives. Whether we are using them to drink out of or use them to take our medications, plastic bottles are an essential material of our lives.
These bottles are very convenient, but they can be quite a hassle to get rid of when they become too old and we no longer need them.
Most people have a hard time disposing of their plastic bottles because they either don’t know how or don’t want to pay for the recycling services provided by the city.
There are many ways that you can recycle used plastic bottles, but here are some great ideas on how you can reuse these bottles for your home or business:
1. Jewelry Stands
Plastic water bottles are perfect for creating unique jewelry stands.
They can be painted or stained in any color that you choose. Also, they are great for holding rings, necklaces, bracelets and more.
Plastic bottles are a great way to display your favorite pieces of jewelry without having to keep them in the box that they came in.
2. Mini-Flower Vases
This is a great idea for when you have extra bottles that you no longer need and are just collecting dust in your garage or basement.
Using a small bottle, cut off the top and insert some flowers or other small objects into the bottle to make it into a decorative vase.
You can also use these mini vases as candle holders if you have too many candles in your house.
3. Table Lamps
As recycled materials go, plastic bottles are not the most useful, but they can still be used for other things. One of the best ways that you can use a plastic bottle is by turning it into a lamp.
This is an excellent way to reuse these bottles and keep them out of the landfills.
To create your own lamp, all you need to do is purchase a plastic bottle. Next, drill a hole in the bottom of it, and then cut the top off so that it is an octagon shape.
You can then screw the base onto your table and hang the lamp up using a small fishing line or yarn.
Once you have finished hanging up your lamp, you will have created something new out of one old bottle!
4. Houseplant Planter
Recycled bottles make a great planter for houseplants.
Fill them up with potting soil and put the bottles in a sunny spot where they can get plenty of light.
The plastic bottle will be sturdy enough to support your plant, and the clear plastic will let you easily see what is going on inside.
5. Plastic Containers
If you have extra bottles lying around in your garage or basement, why not use them to store other things?
They make great storage containers, especially if they are decorated with some paint or other decoration.
You could also use them to store small items such as screws, nuts and bolts, washers, nails and other miscellaneous items.
These plastic bottles make superb organizers for small items in your home. You can even use them to organize your craft supplies.
6. Chandelier
Instead of adding plastic waste to the landfill, you can reuse plastic bottles as an alternative to a chandelier.
You can easily create a simple chandelier from plastic bottles by following these steps:
Take an old bottle and cut it into a circle or square shape. Use hot glue to attach the cut pieces of plastic together.
Cut the cap off of another bottle and place it on top of the plastic circle or square.
You can use twine or ribbons to tie on lights and decorations to the bottles. Use these decorative bottles for any type of décor you are looking for.
