Comforting Ways to Stay Warm at Home

1. Hot Shower

Taking a hot shower is one of the best ways to warm up. Just be careful not to stay in too long or you could burn yourself.

2. Hot Bath

If you like taking baths, then this is a great way to warm up after being outside in the cold. Just be careful not to stay in too long or you could burn yourself. If you have little kids, make sure they are supervised so they don’t get hurt while taking a bath.

3. Heated Blanket/Pillow/Mattress Pad

Heated blankets and heated pillows are great for those cold nights when it’s hard to fall asleep without some extra warmth. These items are also great for staying warm on cold days when it’s hard to get out of bed in the morning.

These products are usually made with heavy duty wires that will last for years and can be purchased at most stores including Walmart, Target, and Amazon (see our recommendations below).

You can also purchase mattress pads which heat up the entire mattress with thick heavy duty wires that are guaranteed not to leak any electricity into your body while sleeping on them (see our recommendations below).

Just be careful not to sleep on them too long or you could burn yourself.

4. Hot Beverages

Hot beverages are a great way to warm up on cold days and nights. Some of our favorites include hot chocolate, hot apple cider, hot tea, and coffee.

You can also make your own hot beverages with a Keurig machine or other similar machine (see our recommendations below). Just be careful not to drink too much caffeine or you could get the jitters.

5. Warm Bath Towels/Warm Washcloths

Having warm towels or washcloths after taking a shower is one of the best ways to warm up and relax at home after being outside in the cold.

Just be careful not to use too many warm towels at once or you could burn yourself. If you have little kids, make sure they are supervised so they don’t get hurt while taking a bath.

6. Hot Beverage Warmer/Electric Mug Warmer/Hot Water Bottle/Heated Blanket & Pillow Warmer

These products are great for warming up beverages, hot water bottles, and heated blankets and pillows. Just be careful not to use too many warm towels at once or you could burn yourself.

If you have little kids, make sure they are supervised so they don’t get hurt while taking a bath.

7. Foot Warmers/Warm Gloves/Hand Warmers

Foot warmers are great for keeping your feet warm while you’re out in the cold. Some of our favorites include the HotHands Hand Warmers which are reusable hand warmers that can be used over and over again (see our recommendations below).

You can also purchase disposable hand warmers that can be used only once but come in different scents (see our recommendations below).

You can also purchase foot warmers which heat up your feet without having to wear gloves or socks (see our recommendations below).

These products are also great for keeping your hands warm while out in the cold (see our recommendations below). Just be careful not to use too many foot warmers at once or you could burn yourself.

If you have little kids, make sure they are supervised so they don’t get hurt while taking a bath.
