How to Prevent Clogged Drains

When your drains are clogged, it can be a nightmare. There are several ways to prevent clogged drains and help them run smoothly.

Don’t put hair down the drain. When you wash your hair, put it in a bag and throw it away. The same goes for anything else that goes down the drain – if you don’t want to see it again, don’t put it down the drain!

Use baking soda and vinegar. Mix baking soda with vinegar in a bowl until it forms a paste. Use a rag to apply the paste to the drains and leave for 30 minutes. This should dissolve any gunk that is causing the clog.

Use a plunger on each drain individually or all at once if they are connected together. Push down hard and move up and down quickly – this should dislodge any gunk that is causing the clog. Be careful not to damage your pipes while doing this though!
