Before talking about space saving home design ideas, here’s what you should know. As the years pass by, people are increasingly taking an interest in the aesthetics of their home. It is obvious that as time goes by, our homes will become more modern and refined.
However, it is also true that people do not want to spend too much money on home improvement because of the financial constraints. In addition, many people have to work away from home for long hours which also leaves them with little time to do home improvement.
However, there are still some ways that you can save space in your home and make it look nicer at the same time. Here’s a list of 5 smart space saving home design ideas that will help you save some valuable space in your house.
These ideas are based on actual real life situations that I have encountered during my lifetime, and they work very well. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did when I designed them!
#1 Wall Storage Organizer

What You Need:
Step 1: Use an empty paint can to create a stand for your decorative wall hangings (and other items). Paint the can (sides and bottom) white so that it blends in with the wall color nicely.
Step 2: Hang your favorite pictures or artworks on this stand and make sure that they are properly centered.
Step 3: Use the space underneath the stand to store other items such as toiletries, medicines, towels and more.
#2 Under Cabinet Space Saver
What You Need:
Step 1: Get rid of all the items that you don’t need under your kitchen cabinets. Keep only the items that you use on a regular basis in your kitchen like kitchen utensils, dish cloths, sponges, etc.
Step 2: Keep these items in an open space under your cabinets. You can use the under cabinet storage area to store books, accessories and more.
#3 Shoe Storage in Small Spaces

What You Need:
Step 1: Hang all your shoes in a closet so that they are easily accessible from anywhere in your house without having to bend down to get them out of the closet every time you need them.
Step 2: Instead of using large shoe racks that take up too much space, hang smaller hangers from a coat rack so that you can store more than one pair of shoes at a time. This will save you some valuable space in your closet and give it a neat look at the same time!
#4 Storage Caddy for Towels
What You Need:
Step 1: Use a shoe rack to store your towels in a small space. To make the storage area look more organized, you can use some hooks or caddies so that your towels are neatly organized.
Step 2: To save more space, put the caddies under the shower/bathtub. This will prevent you from having to bend down every time you need to retrieve a towel from under the bathtub.
#5 Organize Your Pantry Items
What You Need:
Step 1: Get rid of all the empty food containers and organize them into a shelf that is mounted on the wall. This will give your pantry an organized look and make it easier for you to access items when you need them most.
Step 2: If possible, get rid of all food packaging materials like bags, boxes and other types of plastic bags from your pantry so that they don’t take up valuable space in your house.
The above 5 smart space-saving home design ideas are very easy to implement in any home with little or no effort at all. I hope these ideas help you save some valuable space in your house and make it look nice at the same time.
