1. If you are purchasing unfinished wood furniture, the first thing you need to do is to sand it down and seal it. Unfinished wood needs to be sealed with a stain sealer.
A quick and easy way to do this is by using a spray can of water based stain sealer. Apply it with a spray bottle and then wipe off the excess with a clean cloth. Let the wood dry completely before applying any other products or doing any other work on it.
2. You should use furniture polish once a month or as needed to keep your furniture looking good and protected from everyday wear and tear.
Furniture polish comes in both liquid and paste form. If you choose to use liquid polish, apply it with a clean cloth and rub it into the wood in small circles until all of the dirt has been removed from the surface of the wood.
Wipe off any excess with another clean cloth and let dry completely before applying any other products or doing any other work on it.

3. If you have furniture that has a more intricate design, you may want to add a bit of color and/or design to it. You can use a water based stain to create the color that you want.
