How to Remove Crayon from Painted Walls

For painted walls, the first step is to scrape off as much crayon as possible with a plastic putty knife. For really stubborn marks, you can use a razor blade. Don’t worry about taking off any paint. Just get the crayon itself.

Next, clean the area with soap and water to remove any remaining residue. Dry it thoroughly and then give it a quick coat of paint to cover up any discoloration from the crayon.

How to Remove Crayon from Hardwood Floors

Hardwood floors are one of the hardest surfaces for removing crayon from because they can be very hard to clean. In fact, you should always use caution when cleaning them because you don’t want to scratch or damage them in any way.

To start, make sure that your floors are free of excess dirt and debris before trying to remove the crayon mark. Next, mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle and then apply it directly onto the mark using a microfiber cloth or sponge mop (be careful not to let it run).

Let it sit for about 30 minutes before wiping away with a clean cloth or sponge mop.

Repeat the process until the crayon mark is gone. Finally, finish by using a clean cloth or sponge mop to wipe away any remaining vinegar. Let it dry completely before walking on it or placing anything on it.

How to Remove Crayon from Clothes

Removing crayon from clothes is fairly easy. For light colored clothing, you can just wash the area in the washing machine with warm water and a mild detergent. Use a color catcher if you have one and wash as usual.

For darker colored clothing, follow the same steps but be sure to use cold water instead of warm. Then, soak in cold water for about 15 minutes before washing as usual.
